Union State Buttons Empty
PostSubject: Union State Buttons   Union State Buttons I_icon_minitime11/9/2009, 2:06 pm

The Union states as well as the Confederate states had their own buttons referred to as State Seal buttons. Each state had it's own unique design so that no two states looked the same.

This button is a New York Militia button. The wording on the bottom reads,"Excelsior" and this button has a backmark of "John F. Boylan.N.Y. *S.N.Y.*" This button was recovered in Columbia, South Carolina.
