We traveled to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina for the Battle of Secesionville Living History Weekend at the Boone Hall Plantation. The event featured many sutler's tents and period refreshments as well as the plantation itself that has over 300 years of history. The highlight of the day was the Battle of Secesionville Reenactment which was a preview of how the event down in 1862 at Fort Lamar, South Carolina.

This was AWSOME! Ian you did a great job!!!!!!!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Imagine you where there at the start of the War Between the States. The union or the confederacy had made plans to meet on the field of battle, each wanting to prove their point of view. As a citizen this seems like a novel idea so you grab the family, load them in a coach or wagon and head to the surrounding hills to watch the battle and enjoy the afternoon. We’re going to see our boys whip the other and settle this once and for all.

Now imagine there was radio during that time and the local reporter grabbed a crew and headed for the field as well to bring you the action as it happens. Ian Conway of Research and Recovery has done just that! And, you can be there too. He did a great job of bringing the real action to you right in your home.

Right now you can listen in real time the Battle of Secessionville, SC. On OHP Radio Channel at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] This is exciting folks, you can, hear it, you can feel it. Go check it out now.

Folks, you are there! a blow by blow action of the Battle! GO listen now.

Another First anywhere brought to you by Research and Recovery - Together where making history!
