| Hi I just got back from a 10 day metal detecting trip in NY. I had the chance to hunt a field where the American troops camped while the "Old Stone Fort" was being built down the road. I got some lead round ball, 3 fired and two intact. One ball was in the process of being carved into something. I also found my oldest coin to date...a 1747 Colonial copper and a 1767. | Thanks guys, the 1747 is my oldest coin to date. I look forward to that trip every year. The houses are old and the ground is soft. | |
