Treasure club Phoenix AZ Empty
PostSubject: Treasure club Phoenix AZ   Treasure club Phoenix AZ I_icon_minitime1/19/2010, 9:45 pm

Went to a treasure club meeting Phoenix last night.

One of the guys and his father did something I had never heard of in New Mexico.

Somehow they convinved the decendant of a 1840's Dragoon and owner of a piece of land that served as a Dragoon camp in the 1840's, to let them use heavy equipment to cut down over an acre of land to a depth of 2 feet, 3 inches at a time. They found at least 20 dragoon buttons, silver coins both Mexican and US and numerous other items.

Since the property was in an Urban area over time debris, buildings, etc piled up on top of the artifact level thus the need to cut it down 2 feet to get to the relics. Most stuff in the open desert is on top of the ground.

Just too cool! This guy has also written a book on US tokens if anyone is interested. His last name is Kaiser.
