Poison ivy (Toxicodendron radicans) can ruin any outdoor activity. When you come into contact with poison ivy, it may cause a itchy skin reaction. This reaction is caused by the chemical urushiol. That's why treasure hunters, especially those of us who search in forests, need to know how to treat poison ivy reactions as well as prevent them.
