Found this scuba diving a spring on Choctawhatchee River in South Alabama while fanning for Native American artifacts. I don't have a metal detector, but find alot of gold and silver jewelry, old silver coins and the like while looking for lithics. Back of button is stamped Crumpton * Phila * around the shank. Best I can tell it is from an Infantry uniform circa 1812-1815...?

here is a little help to get you started:

Click on "Host an Image"
Click on the "Browse" button
Choose the location of your picture file folder from the pop up window at the top left corner of your screen
Click on your picture so that it is highlighted
Click on the "Open" button
Once the open buton has been hit your file name will be uploaded to the Host it screen
Hit the "Host it Button" and wait briefly...
then click the "Copy" button for a thumbnail or full size picture
Then go to your new topic thread and simply "paste" the shortcut to your message
Hit "Preview button" to make sure you successfully transfered the shortcut and you should see your picture in the topic thread.
If you like it and are done, then hit the "Send" button and walla, your finsished.....
You can go back and repeat the above steps to add additional picutres if needed or desired.

Looks like the water did an excellent job of preserving that infantry button! If your finding stuff like this you might want to get a detector and look over that site some. Great button!

Thanks for the suggestion, re:metal detector. There is no telling what I miss when diving some of these sites because I don't have a detector. I am "fanning" silt. Guess I would need one built for underwater...
It really is a nice button...I was stoked when I realized what it was!
