PostSubject: Howdy from Gettysburg   3/30/2010, 4:18 pm

Folks,

New member here and I'm looking forward to some fun discussions on the forum. I have been collecting for about 14 years, starting with bullets, then cartridges, on to longarms and now sabers. My specialty is bullets and cartridges, with a little knowledge about Model 61/63 Springfields and contracts.

I am the co-owner (with Dean and Jim Thomas) of the Civilwarprojectiles.com site and much of my bullet and cartridge collection can be viewed at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I am a software designer by trade and a relic hunter by hobby. I use Minelab gear, currently driving the Safari FBS machine and loving it.

I was born and raised in Southeastern Massachusetts but moved to Houston, TX for a decade so I like to say that I have one foot planted firmly on either side of the Mason/Dixon. My wife and I (and our two Akitas) moved to the Gettysburg area about 6 years ago and I feel like I moved to Mecca. I currently live just northwest of the Peace Light in the middle of 17,000 acres of orchards. For an old city boy (I used to joke that I couldn't sleep without the sound of sirens and gunshots) this is heaven.

Hi Tom!

Boy, am I honored to have you on the R&R Forum! Pretty much anytime I need a quick ID for a bullet or cartridge, I head over to your site. Really great database you have put together for everyone to use.

Thanks for joining us here and I hope you have a great time on the forum!
