Here is the finds from Luke and myself on our pre-Thanksgiving dig. Had a great time out with My son Luke, David and Ian. Hopefully we will do this again soon.

Close up of the Staff Officer cuff button. It was missing the shank, but was glowing with
some gilt.

i know I should know this, but what is the flat, circular object with the rectangular slit and trwo round hols in the bottom of the photo?

That is called a Saddle Oval. Pretty much the same thing as the shield, just oval shaped.
